About Contractor Near Me and how it works
Contractor Near Me is a free request service for home and business projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and Dallas–Fort Worth. You tell us what needs doing; we call or email you back to talk it through. We are not a licensed contractor and we do not do the work.
What happens to a request
- You call, email, or send the short form with your name, phone, the kind of project and a few words about it.
- We get back to you by phone or email to understand the work: what you see, how big it is, and how soon it matters.
- We talk through which kind of licensed contractor the job needs, what a fair written contract looks like, and what to ask before you hire.
- You decide who to hire. The request is free and you owe us nothing for it.
What we never do
We do not quote prices for work we have not seen, promise start dates, or vouch for any contractor. We do not show made-up project photos, ratings or reviews. We do not sell the details you send us. Why the license line is on every page
California asks anyone who advertises construction work to be clear about licensing. A licensed contractor must show its license number in its ads, and someone who is not licensed must say so. Because Contractor Near Me is not a contractor, every page says that plainly in its footer. Work of $1,000 or more, or any job that needs a permit, belongs to a licensed contractor, and you can check any license on the Contractors State License Board's Check A License page. We take requests for homes and businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Dallas–Fort Worth: additions, kitchens, bathrooms, electrical, plumbing, flooring, painting, roofing and handyman repairs. If your project is somewhere else or something else, send it anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
